Sean had mentioned before having an interest in cam tools.  That's a cheaper alternative and is a nice efficient approach.  Going to send him a PM with your link so he'll see it for sure.

we gonna start another tool group buy?? I would be in for cam tools....

That one came up Kirk.  But didn't get much interest.  More variation in the cam tools over a similar number of years than the alignment tool.  And not nearly as many do cams themselves and might need to align their bikes.  Hell, everyone ought to align their bikes every couple of years.  Just to know it's ok.  We're just better off than everyone else because we can actually do it :drink: :mango: .

TwoLane, good point.. Gee why do i think everyone has the same year bike as mine   ???  I agree with you checking alignment on bikes every two years. I was lucky and was spot on with both bikes and happy to know that while if chase my wife around the canyons  :confused5: Now you got me thinking on a good overall tool for a next groupie and cant come up anything.  :nixweiss: Hell maybe we ought to consider a nice lift table and move that one around    :P

That group-effectiveness really was good for the alignment tool.  One tool fits a lot of years and is easy to use for almost any skill level willing to do it.  Perfect for a communal tool.  Like you I've not thought of any other specialty tool that recommends itself the same way, would/could see regular use and is expensive enough to make the community effort worthwhile.

Tool to align the drivetrain in the frame Jim.  For an illustration see part number 740050 at this link:

Some nice tools, Don!  Not cheap though.  My idea of a "group buy" with that one would be a group buying one to share when required!  8)

That's what ten of us did Jim.  All kicked in at time of purchase then mailed it from one user to the next.  Tool covered a lot of miles before completing its rounds.

Yes we are.  Though no one has asked for a long time now.  It goes out for $40 plus the costs of postage.  No deposit for someone we know.  Newbies and moderators and those with extraordinarily bad hygiene will be asked for a deposit.
