Part number request
« on: September 25, 2009, 01:58:11 PM »

Greetin's all,

I'm hoping there's a SE supplement to the Touring Parts manuals. I'm looking for the Part # for the control lever chrome pivot pins for '08 & up SE baggers. I picked up a chrome lever set for my 2010 Ultra and the nice accessory folks included a package containing nice shiney chrome pivot pins to replace my black OEM pins. Only problem is the pins are the old '96 - '07 larger diameter pins that don't fit in the smaller '08 & up holes. D'OH!  I've wasted more time than this is worth trying to explain to the the Customer disService drones what the problem is.... I'm just gonna go buy 'em.

Thanks in advance... TL

You mean the pivot pin for the clutch and <front> brake levers?

42105-06A for the clutch, 45032-82 for the brake.

Or do you mean something else?   :nixweiss:

Eggzactly.

Ummm, I dunno. Both pivot pins are identical, oughta be the same part #s. That -82 part number is the same as the larger pivot pins the old '07.[/quote]

The new, smaller pins didn't show up until '08.

Thanks... TL

I stand corrected, my OEM part numbers aren't the same either. Identical looking though.

I shall trot off to the dealer with those part numbers and see what I get. Thanks!

It's said confession is good for the soul..... it appears my Mother raised an idiot. I should probably be kept far away from motorcycles and power tools!

As many times as I've pulled control levers on everything from mid-80s to late EVOS to all 4 of the Twin Cams I've owned I never, ever noticed the pivot pins are different sizes. When installing the chrome front brake lever on the new '10 Ultra I merely reached into the bag o' parts and pulled out a chrome pivot pin.... and it didn't fit because it was too big. Never even glanced at the other pin included, just MF'd the MoCo for sending me the wrong parts. This just after discovering they sent an I-sheet for lighted saddlebag lid spoilers in the box with my lighted Tour Pak spoiler :-[

Thanks to Eqcons for the correct Parts #s, they were spot on. Just exactly what was in the bag. Think I'll put the bike on the lift and see if I can fix something until it's broken......
