Saddle bag plug in extentions
« on: October 07, 2009, 06:07:42 PM »

I have an 2010 seuc and i am having trouble fitting my big hand in there to unplug the hard side bags. Has anyone made an extention for that plug so you have more room to unplug it?

There's an easier solution. If you grab the connector wire firmly and pull, you can pull the black grommet out of the saddlebag wall from the outside. Once it's been pulled out, you'll see that the "grommet" is also a clamp on the wire. Once its out of the saddlebag wall, you can move the clamp/grommet to leave more wire outside the bag.

Then re-insert the grommet back into the saddlebag and it will re-clamp the wire as well. With the clamp moved back on the wire you'll have a longer connector wire outside the saddlebag giving your hand more room to reach the plug. I was able to add about 2-4inches on both bags which was plenty and made removing and re-attaching the bags a whole lot easier.
