I a new owner of a 2006 se fatboy. It came with the factory pillion only. Any ideas on how to get an original chrome tail tail for solo riding?

If it is a part that came with the bike or an original accessory, you should still be able to order it from HD. There are a few cvoharley friendly dealers out there that offer 20% off on parts and clothing.

Also it's showing a P/N of 51827-05.

after more research it turns out the 2005 and 2006 seat aren't interchangeable ( due to the 200mm tire in 06). therfore neither are the tailpieces. the correct 06 part number is 51829-06. i ordered one from zanotti. $310.

Sorry to get here late but the 2005 CVO Fatboy uses the 51827-05 (chrome tailpiece kit) but the 2006 CVO Fatboy uses the 51829-06 (chrome tail piece kit) They do not interchange as the 51829-06 is longer
