I just got back from a 2 week, 3000 mile ride to Florida.
I left Oct 16th from Chicago it was 38 and raining.
Friday night I was in Murfreesboro, Tn and it was 42 and raining
Sat it was 40 and raining but the rain stopped by the time I got to Atlanta. But it was still just in the mid 40s so the heated vest and grips stayed on until I got into Florida. Sat night I was in Ocala but the sky was clear finally and I made it through Gainesville before the Gators game was over so I missed all that traffic.
Sunday morning it was SUNNY!!!!!!! But only 46 out and windy. I rode a long ride to Daytona(about 60 miles ) and found Biketoberfest at Rosmeyer's HD. Saw my friend Des from Ultimate seats and said "G'Day mate" to him. Had some lights installed on my bike and got it detailed as it was filthy from riding in the rain and picked up a nice bike lift, shipped of course. It got to be alomst 70 degrees and sunny all day, away went the heated gear!! Even the lizard's at the hotel were nice;

Monday I was off to the Keys to meet my new friend from another motorcycle board I belong to. Had lunch here, anyone know the place??

That friend and I passed eachother a couple times before we finally got together for a ride to Parmer's resort on Little Torch Key. I had a nice cabin right on the water;

I went fishing on Tuesday and caught a nice grouper and a few yellowtail snappers.

Wednesday I headed to Key West for the usuall tourist stuff;

Thursday I was off again across the Gator Alley to make my way to Tampa area to get to my high school friends home and see my wife and son and my God Daughter to watch her ride horses;

Cian, my son, having ice cream and going to Busch Gardens;

I guess from this adventure at Busch that I am out of the running for "Dad of the Year". Cian is the little guy in white, and I am off to the right in blue. I let him get drenched from the roller coaster, he cried a little

My little guy was tired after that trip;

I left Tampa Monday morning in a mist and got to Chattanooga by nightfall.
Tuesday morning it was raining again.
By the time I got to Louisville, I was soaked, even through the rain gear. The rain never stopped, no rest to dry out some. It also turned cold in Louisville. I got to Indianapolis that night to dry off, warm up and have dinner with my mom and my brother and his wife.
Then home yesterday afternoon and sleeping in my own bed again!!!
Great ride, great stories, great friends!!!!
