Any Microsoft Outlook Experts Here?
« on: October 30, 2009, 11:36:23 AM »

I have a desktop at work that was new in '02 when I came to work here.  Other than some type of virus that makes the thing running really really slow, it does seem to still work great.

My Outlook issue popped up about a month ago.  "Some" of my incoming emails go directly to my Delete Folder.  If I copy all of our employees and do a copy myself, my copy goes into the the Delete Folder too.  I have a couple customers that go directly in and I have to keep looking at my Deleted Folder for new emails from them.

When I travel, like earlier this week to Muskogee OK, I used my iPhone all day doing some emails, but the Deleted Folder does not show up on my browser.  I have to have someone at work login and look for them and move them to my Inbox Folder.

I'd say that I only have a few incoming email customers and myself that do this, all others come into my Inbox Folder without any issues.  All of my coworker's emails come into my Inbox, again except for the ones I have copied myself on.

I've gone to my Spam folder and set the customers that this happens to as an allowable incoming email and not to Spam it.

The other issue is that these are not Spammed, they just go directly to Delete and don't pass GO or collect $200.00.....

Any ideas?

I've seen on the Internet that some others are having an issue with Hotmail accounts coming into their Outlook Express and doing this, but that's going through a POP3 setup which I do not use.

Thanks again in advance.

I don't know.  I'll ask the question to our guy here.

Or.... Is there some place I can look under Properties etc that will tell me this?

Thanks.

Go to tools and accounts or account settings and look at the e-mail account. Go into the properties of the accout and it will have an "exchange server" list if it is an exchange account. If so, you need to speak to the Exchange admin to be sure there are no polices configured that would send any type of e-mail directly to the deleted items folder.

I had the same type of problem, looks like I accidental added to my blocked sender list, which sends them to your deleted folder. Go to Tools, Message Rules, Blocked Senderlist, see if they are in there, if they are in there just remove them and you should be good.

I'll do some more checking on Monday.

I have another desktop that was used in engineering for some time that's tons faster and updated on video and Office from my old '02 puter.  The only problem with that one is that it has memory errors and I get this totally blue screen that says something like "If this is the first time this has happened, reboot your computer."  It always says something about memory as an error.  If i open up the Internet and it takes too long, it can crash on my.  If I open up PDF's of a larger size it crashes.  The last time I tried to use it was two weeks ago and it opened and close Outlook over and over again.  It would buffer up from the network server and then just close itself and reopen the screen and start all over again.  One time we took it in and they said that I had a corrupted AutoCAD 2008 and that was the issue.  They removed AutoCAD and gave it back.  The next few minutes hooked up it does the blue screen and locks up again.  It got so that I could only crash about once every other day or so and I could live with that compared to my old VERY SLOW desktop I have the Outlook issues with.

I guess I just need a new computer and I can move on.  I don't think they'll be buying one for me soon though.

Thanks for all the ideas so far.  I'll keep you all posted on the progress.
