what slip ons will work?
« on: November 10, 2009, 10:17:24 PM »

I see that the rhinehart slip ons for 09 say in their description that they will not fit the SE streetglide. Why is this? Is the diameter of the stock headpipe different or is it the 02 sensors? I guess I could always do the V&H headpipes and mate the rhineharts up to that.

Anyone hear the bub 7's, I like the slash up look but only bummer is they are 3.5 dia not 4 like I really want and the stealth are too quiet. Thanks,

Why is it that everyone seems to get wood over Rhineharts and 'True Duals'?  Every engine builder I know or have known has told me the the use of a cross over increases torque, and changing the distance from the heads will affect where the torque improvements start in the rpm range.  I've got V&H on mine, have been there for almost 50K miles now.  No yellowing, no Blueing, no discoloration what so ever.  I picked up an '09 SERG on E-bay, should be here in a couple of days.  The only thing I'm waiting on is the new version of the V&H 4" turndown mufflers.  V&H has told me they'll me available mid-December.  Plan on matching them to the V&H Power Duals, and adding a Super Tuner, and a 'Heavy Breather' air cleaner.... unless I can find a K&N replacement for the stock air filter.

Hey what can I say, the rhineharts have a great sound. 98% of the reason people put pipes on is the sound and whatever small gain you get from the setup is the other 2%   I havnt decided for sure but even if I put those on instead of V&H I will either have fullsac remove the cat from the head pipes or get the dresser dual head pipes like I had on my last bike. I always welcome the replies even if they dont answer what i was asking.

Well... I've got the bike now.  It got here on Friday the 13th..??  Still have to finish breaking it in.  Bought it with just 307 miles on it.  The plan is to put the V&H Power Duals on paired with their 4" turndown mufflers, along with the SE Super Tuner.

I had V & H Turndowns on my SEUC3 a little louder than i wanted so i added some Hooker baffles ! still loudish but they soaked up some of the droan. Other riders didn`t like the dust they kicked up . Similar sound to monster ovals but cheaper.
Changed the bike to SEUC4 with V&H Ovals silver/blue

One of the guys I talked to said they are louder than the rhinehats and a little bit "tinny" sounding   but not as bad as the V&H ovals, what do you think?

Click the link and hear them I'v never had the Rinehearts but I'd say they are similar loud wise to my V&H big radius 2 into 1.

Very throaty when on the throttle but just a nice rumble at 2500 rpm

The V&H Power Duals made them deeper in tone and slightly louder. Drag sells different size baffles for them.

Drag no longer sells these but sells the different baffles?  What size changes do they have, smaller for quiet, larger for loud?  seems these have plenty of voulume.

Correct they only sell the baffles. The pipe install instructions came from BUB

They have them on the web site at www.milwaukeebagger.com although my dealer called them and got me a 20 % discount

I guess I should measure the size they came with?

still considering the paint idea
