It was getting to be time for the 5,000 mile service on my bike (2009 FLHTCUSE4) and I decided to search the site for all relevant service bulletins. After a few nights of searching I compiled my list and scheduled an appointment. into the shop it goes...service writer asks if there is anything else beside the 5,000 service, so I handed him the list. By the way I thought I would have a little fun...so I handed him the service bulletins one at a time.
1) 2009 ABS Calibration
2) IDS Compensator wear check
3) 2009 Touring Rear Fork Rusty Water Leakage
4) 2009 Front Tire Cupping Issue
Needless to say he looked at me a little funny...but he wrote them all down. So the wife and I head off for a weeks vacation and while I'm traveling, I'm perusing the site and find out that there is a gas tank recall for the bike. The next morning I phoned the dealer to have them take care of the issue while the bike was there, by the way they hadn't heard about it yet. While I was on the phone, they looked it up and sure enough there it was. Fast forward, I picked up the bike tonight and all the work had been completed.
1) 2009 ABS Calibration - UPDATED
2) IDS Compensator wear check - CHECKED NO ISSUES
3) 2009 Touring Rear Fork Rusty Water Leakage - CORRECTED PER BULLETIN
4) 2009 Front Tire Cupping Issue - NEW TIRE INSTALLED
Of course the Gas Tank Recall work was also completed.
Thanks to all who make this the best place to stay informed.
Happy Holidays!
