03 ultra with 95" HTcc heads
« on: November 27, 2009, 09:14:40 AM »

I have a friend that the local shop sold him a bunch of parts when he did not them. he went in for a noise which we found out at home later that he had a pushrod coming in contact with the pushrod tube long story short they sold him HTCC heads and pistons and then put SE 211 cams which is a very poor combo for a touring bike. Since he  always rides two up pulling a trailer for extended times I was thinking of a head quarters cam Gear drive of coarse but I cant fine and info on what the compression ration is for this set up that he has now does anybody know? Thanks

The way that combo is now,if using SE head gaskets, will be right in the 10.75:1 ballpark. You didn't say whether the heads were cnc ported or the D-shaped non-ported HTCC ones. The 211 cams are not the best choice, although other problems exsist with chamber/piston geometry. :'(
Easy enough to fix,and at the same time he'll be able to make decent power, especially if they're the non- ported heads. 8)
