In take question
« on: November 29, 2009, 06:56:48 AM »

I have an 08 FXDSE2. If I change the air cleaner to this http://performancemachine.com/Categories.aspx?display=777 do I have to get the bike retuned?
I think I know the answer to this but I would like to hear from someone who know. Thanks for any help you give.

I am not a mechanic (maybe one will answer you soon?) but in my experiences, If you increase the air intake you need a retune. You should also consider the fact if you increase the intake of fuel and air you need to have a good exhaust so it's not bogged down. If you have a stock exhaust you may want to consider a good exhaust upgrade with the intake and tune to get the most benefit.

Just looks like a regular K&N filter behind a fancy A/C assembly. I don't think that'll impact your tune, as long as you have a free-flow A/C assembly now. ;)

If you have stock exhaust then no, if you have after market exhaust and a high flow A/C then re-mapping is required.

Everything is stock except rush slip-on with 1.75 baffles.

Using the Roland Sands Design Venturi Air Cleaner on my 07 springer. It ran better than stock without any problems.
Ran it that way till I had time to install the fatcats and thundermax.
