Luggage rack question

Why won't luggage rack 53011-98 bolt up to the stock 04 SEEG passenger backrest 52935-04 :nixweiss:

The SEEGs got the short detachable sissy bar.  The lower part of the verticals where the rack would attach aren't long enough to accept it.

Wanted a rack for the 02 FLHT with the larger rear fender. I can't install the rear docking point with this fender so the only way I can carry anything is to installl one of these racks......problem is when we sold Kathy's FLHX we sold the tall backrest with it  :oops:

Guess I will have to put in the buy it now that I need a backrest and rack :soapbox:
