I have a similar problem with my bag. There is a scratch under the clear coat. The dealer has not gotten back with me yet. Will keep you posted.

My right bag had a bald spot (no silver) under the clear. Dealer ordered me a new bag with no issues. When the HD reps came down they were complaining about it, asking of the lid covers it and crap... and again, the dealer told them for $30K  + it better be fukking perfect!

I as well had a paint issue on the fairing...new one came in after a couple of weeks and was installed during the 1K service...after what I paid for 'a motorcycle', they knew better than to even try to give me a run-around

Don't agree with the Glare products usage, a small company buying stuff from some other manuf. and relabel. Stick with 3M or Meguairs, Mothers etc. These are products that people who make a living working with paint use, not Glare (and they cost less to).

i wish i knew how to post pics on this board.. i would show you the front fender on my brand new flstse.. i looks like someone smeared their fingers over paint before clear coat with anti sieze all over their hands... the funny thing is thing is that it didn't show up till i got it home out of their climate controlled envirement and the temp dropped to 45 degrees did it show up... first response from dealer service manager was "you got a two year warranty" took it back a week later and they finally took bike and sent fender back for repaint... still waiting for fender

What would lead you to that conclusion?  The post you're commenting on is months old.  It's not by any means his last post on the board (something that could have been discovered with a few mouse clicks).  And whatever storm that happened that did lead to a banishment would be all deleted anyway.

Here, I'll prove it to you:

Glare sucks.

Had some flaws in my outer fairing (clearcoat), the dealer replaced the entire component on warranty...no hassles.  Harley prides itself on the paint quality.  They even did a lower saddlebag extension for a flaw I didn't see.

My fairing had 2 paint defects, both on the rear "lip of the fairing, where the pinstriping is. On the left side there was a nasty paint chip that someone had tried to cover up with some yellow touch-up paint; the dealer said they didn't have any yellow paint, so he said  it must have happened prior to delivery. The other side had about a 2" x 1/4" spot where there was "orange peel" on the surface. There was also a red paint transfer on the rigth rear saddle bag, like someone had made contact with another bike. All 3 spots were repaired by them, and I can't tell there was a repair, so I'm happy with the outcome.
