Its Winter in Canada

WINTER POEM

It's winter in Canada!
And the gentle breezes blow  :vrolijk27:
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below. :santa2:

Oh, how I love Canada
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut. :sick2:

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around  :trailer:
I could never leave Canada
I'm frozen to the friggin' ground :help:

And everyone in Canada lives in an igloo, drives a snowmobile and owns several pairs of snowshoes. And its 40 degrees below zero for 11 months of the year. No offence Martys, but it seems that many people around the world get these impressions from us Canadians and many believe them to be true. They are not!! Yes, it does get cold in Canada during the winter. Sometimes bitterly cold. But there are places like Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Penticton, Southern Ontario where Canadians can get out for a ride during the winter months. Even if its just a short ride to meet a few friends for coffee. The Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, Alberta area is semi desert where cacti abound as do scorpions and black widow spiders. The winter weather in the Lethbridge, Medicine Hat corridor can be -25 Celsius (-13 Fahrenheit) one day and +15 Celsius (+60 Fahrenheit) the next day because of the chinook winds that often blow warm air in during the winter months. During a week long chinook the snow melts leaving the streets safe for a short coffee run. Yes Virginia, Canada does have a summer with hot days and warm nights. And we do have warms days and cool nights in spring and fall.
Owch  :)  It's just a joke  sorry if I clipped a nerve there Egultrac
