Road Tech (garmin ) 660 arrived today
« on: December 21, 2009, 09:27:27 PM »

Well, it arrived today.  Does anyone know if I have to load that extra disk that came with it?  I didn't see that in the book, but I only breezed through it, but it's not in the quick set up booklet either......  at last, I can now find my way around.  I have a real talent for getting lost, or at least taking the VERY long way around... .lets just call it that, taking the long route.

The 660 comes pre-loaded with all the map data for Canada and the US.  The disk that came with the unit is the MapSource disk, or the program you'll load on your desktop/laptop.  That allows you to make custom trips and download them to your 660.

That disc is to load Mapsource and the maps to your computer so you can plan routes from there and then send them to the Zumo. DO NOT load that to your Zumo the maps are already there.
