WRONGO............. You're obviously not taking into account the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit).......By the time you figure in the money (PAID BACK) to those in the bottom 50% for the EITC,  the 3% (paid IN),  in reality becomes something like 4-6 % PAID OUT.

In other words,  the bottom 50% (as a total group),  is in fact a (negative) drag on taxes.  More paid out than came in from that group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Learn it Love it and remember it come next election. >:(

EITC..... grrrrrrr and this year it is going up to include a 3rd child. Being in the income tax business this just chaps my ......   very few of the high EITC clients do what it is intended for. The rest it just fuels the drinking and drug habits. Wake up America. We get tons of calls in the summer that go something like this.... How much can I make in wages to maximize the EITC. They work only so long and quite so they get bigger refunds.
Working folks that are barley making it are the ones that should be getting the EITC, not the welfare moms and dads that only hold a job for a few months so they do not lose benefits.   :soapbox: :soapbox: With over 10,000 clients coming through our offices I see this everyday.

Chip you are right it is humbling to see this and wonder HOW they are getting by.

My income has been falling down. How did you get it to stack up? Maybe 2010 will be easier. kb

This is depressing.....until I remember what one of my bosses told me early on.
He said "In our business (Defense Contracting) the taxes you pay are just an investment to next years salary.  You pay your taxes and next year you will get two to three times that amount back as salary for that year."  Which I thought was really neat until I asked him "What happens when you quit or retire?"  His reply: "You lose".

Line them up................ :behead:

About 50 of those on the White house lawn and one 12 hour shift.

Thats all that stands between America and the restoration of the Republic and the Constitution.

You know the one us veterans swore to uphold protect and defend?

Seems the politicians take that oath a little less seriously?

Yes, it is humbling. It also brings tremendous joy, if you share it.

My Dad's philosophy regarding business, income, employees, rewards and life in general was always evident. It is one I constantly attempt to emulate: "If you help enough people pay their bills, you won't have any."

I thought this was a very interesting article.

How your pay stacks up, compared to the rest of Americans.

I've tried all the categories except the first (unless you count Taxable instead of actual) in my experience it is usually better to be closer to the top?
Jus sayin.

So far you still get to choose where you want to be!

I once read a Quote that stuck with me "Everyone is a self made Man" (woman) "Some are prouder of it than others"

Now that I'm not somehow I owe the fruits of my labor to others :nixweiss:
