Performance upgrades on 06
« on: January 17, 2010, 02:59:57 PM »

I just purchased a 06 screaming eagle ultra. It is just like it came from the factory. Was just wondering if a set of pipes and higher air flow air cleaner would help much or just waste of money. Maybe you guys could tell me some upgrades you have done that has made alot of difference in the performance. The bike runs fine just thought thay may be some simple things that could improve it even more. This is my first post thanks for having me.

welcome to the site and congrats on your scooter

I have a 2006 SEUC and if I were in your shoes/boots

I'd PM hd-dude or call James at http://www.yuillbros.com/index.html

hd-dude (Jim) is an awesome guy and he can steer you to the right stuff and save you some coin

or just call or email James at Yuill Bros. Reno, NV

I did this in 2006 and still get goose bumps when I ride my 06 SEUC

My 2006 was hopped up by the previous owner, S&S gear drive cams and cam plate, race tuner, 52mm EFI, Rinehart true duals, new pushrods and a free flowing air filter, the thing absolutely runs fantastic, very very fast.  I know the mods make a difference, it has to breath to get maximum performance.  Post a picture, would like to see it.

Welcome,   and nice choice for a bike.  The 06 was a good year.

The bikes are choked and very lean from the factory so opening up the intake/exhaust and a good tuner will make a nice difference.

I wouldn't go "hog wild" just yet.  I'd put a few miles on her first to see how she runs before I started opening up the pocketbook...

As we hear the word "performance" we focus on the motor and add upgrades go to that, but don't forget about the handling. I would recommend a bagger brace. It's a system that stablizies the rear swing arm with the transmission pan. Best "performance" handling item I purchased for my 2008 Ultra Classic.
