I need an answer
« on: March 24, 2010, 09:36:54 PM »

I have a 2001 SERG. Does the aux port work or is it bypassed for the CD Changer?  Maybe there is a trick to make it work? Trying to use my Ipod.

HELP!!!!

Almost certain I remember the 01 bikes losing the aux port in front because of the remote CD.  Conversely the aux port on the 2000s work as expected but the radio displays "CD."

The cap on the aux port says CD on my 2001. In the manual the aux port is called the Portable CD Input, it also says in brackets (not used). I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the CD changer is hooked up to the disconnected aux port in the back. I wish I could use my Ipod through the front, like I did on my "98".

Still could.  Get a cassette adapter and run the iPod through it.  Here's one at Radio Shack:

You can tap into the lead inside the radio. Follow this link to a post by HD-dude. I did this and it worked well.
