chrome discolored
« on: February 01, 2010, 01:03:30 PM »

Hello... Newbie member here. My question..I have a 2003 CVO Road King that the chrome has discolored down below the headlight. I have been trying to find one either new or used to replace mine. I call this part a nacelle but perhaps I'm wrong. No one has one and even the Harley catalor doesn't list it. My question is...what is it called and where can I find one?? Thought maybe a wrecked bike yard might have one at a fair price. Can anyone help? Thanks,Silkyjb          PS. Headlight chrome ok. It is below and to the side that is discolored.

Hey Silky, welcome to the site.  I'm sure you'd get some good information to answer your question if you could post a picture.  Because:

:worthless:

I think your right that the part your mention is a nacell but can't tell for a certainty.  Good luck!

Not to flog the obvious, but have you tried Harley's chrome polish? It's a great product.

The S100 finish restorer paste is great for removing blemishes and stains on your chrome also.    :2vrolijk_21:

You're probably talking about the Nacelle.  I'm sure if you go to your local dealer, he can look up the part for you and tell you whether or not it's still available (It should be).

Dealer should be able to order it as "original equip" so long as they have your model# or VIN# if not in the newer catalogue(s) had that experience also....chrome peeled in a spot on the tach mount on my Deuce.....no longer in the current cat.....and its also my handlebar clamp all-in-one piece,so they had to look up the "OEM" part#.....just a thought......... :nixweiss:
