Race Tuner & VIN  Number??
« on: February 15, 2005, 06:14:48 AM »

Dear All,

I'm trying to install my new race tuner efi (32107-01C) on my scooter FLHTCSE 04 ,
it is complaining about my VIN number doesnot match , when i'm about to upload the file .
I can get ECM info of my bike  (VIN-ECMON - CAL ID)

I wonder if this race tuner efi , ONLY for US Market ? since my bike has VIN number overseas , it's located in Asia (VIN 5HD1PJExxxxxxxx ) , and I bought the race-tuner in US.

Anyone can give me more information on this issue ? or contact email MoCo to ask about.

Thanks -andy  [smiley=cry2.gif]

Andy,

Definately call or write the MoCo.   This is one place you dont want to have any issues.   The computer brain is very very sensitive.   My tuner wouldnt connect either and had to have harley resolve it only good point was I didnt do the installation so i didnt have to eat any of the costs other than the original labor.

Has it been on another bike if so it will not work on yours.  It burns the vin number of the ECM some how and will only work with that ECM

Magoo,

I bought  RaceTuner from Chicago HD, and as-far-as I know it's brand new, and I never use it for other bike.
When my local dealer (Indonesia) was doing the installation , I was there. So I don't  think it has been used on other scooter.

A buddy was telling me the ECM if different than domestic ones would be a california ECM and the same as the intenational one they both have catalic converters.  Had my one on the road king not want to take a map. It would reconize the ECM they where able to get an updated version overnight from HD and that solved my problem.  Keep us posted as to the solution.
