According to a report in the Dayton Business Journal (DBJ), (Jan. 15, 2010) by Staff Reporter Tom Demeropolis, David Coterel and Jason Dennis purchased the Buckminn's Harley-Davidson dealership in Xenia, OH, for an undisclosed amount, and the building for $1.75 million. That's small change for Coterel because he and his father and sister won $314.3 million in 2007 when they won the Powerball.
The dealership has been renamed Buckminn's D & D to reflect the new ownership. Dennis's involvement is as a minority owner. He is a successful auto dealer and presumably Coterel figures it would be good to have someone who knows the business helping him run the show.
The two new owners plan to pump up the promotional spending and sponsor a steady series of events at the dealership, with a goal to increase sales this year by 15 percent, according to the DBJ article.
I want to personally wish David Coterel well with his new venture, and hope it's not just a replay of the old line about the farmer who won a million dollars in a lottery. Asked what he intended to do with his winnings the farmer replied, "Oh, I guess I'll just keep farming until it's all gone."
