Garmin Zumo 550
« on: May 29, 2010, 01:12:56 AM »

I read periodically in posts here guys talking about plugging the GPS into the AUX jack on the stereo to hear the voice prompts or music thru the stereo.  Where did you get the proper cord/plug to do this?  I checked everything I received when I got my Zumo 550 and I can't find anything that would hook to the GPS and plug into the AUX jack.  Am I missing something?

If I am traveling on a long trip I have a set up that blue tooth connects my GPS with my Phone and Headset on my Helmet, but I rarely wear a helmet and would like to be able to periodically hear the GPS prompts thru the stereo on the bike rather than keep looking at it to ensure I don't miss a turn.....

I'm interested in the reply from this also. I also rarely wear a helmet and was under the impresion that with all the gadgets out there, you still could only get the prompts thru the headset and not the fairing speakers.

Need some help - Called Garmin and they couldn't help???

One of the two very small button (or pan) head fasteners that holds the power cord in place vibrated loose.  I took the second screw to Fastenal, Radio Shack and a local jeweler to see if they could tell me what the size is so I can order a new one.  Anyone have the screw size?

Thanks

Sound professionals as mentioned above are great people to work with    the gold plated angled plugs make for a clean looking install. As I recall I was offered a cable that had a heavier casing around it that they had made just for the motorcycle crowd.Contact Us by Phone:

The best resource for all things Zumo is zumoforums.com.  You have to register, but it is an excellent resource. Someone there found the screw at a clock shop. Size is M2x0.4x3.5 MM

Also try your local hobby shop.  Most all the RC cars use metric bolts, screws, nuts in the very small sizes like this.
