Air Cleaner Assembly 110 ?????
« on: March 01, 2010, 12:53:26 PM »

Is the A/C Assembly on the 2010 CVO ULTRA the same as the HD Ventilator? Or is it the stock A?C with the 110 Insert?

Thanks,

The A/C on the 2010 SEUC is NOT the Ventilator model that's on the 2010 SESG or the 2009 SERG. I upgraded mine to the Ventilator. I can't say for sure if the stock A/C on the 2010 SEUC is the same as the one on the standard Ultra but I know it's different from the Ventilator since I had it upgraded.

The air cleaner on the standard Ultra uses a plastic airbox.  The CVO versions also use the plastic airbox, with several holes punched in the plastic to let in more air.  I believe the actual air filter element was also upgraded over the stock element in '09.  With all that, it still doesn't flow as well as the Ventilator, the Heavy Breather, or the aftermarket pieces such as the Big Sucker.

It appears that the determining factor on the air cleaners is the presence of lowers.  The Ultra (and previously the SEEG's) with lowers have the quieter plastic airbox, while the SERG and the SESG without lowers have the exposed element high flow units.  I guess that means Ultra riders tend to be interested in peace and quiet, while SERG and SESG riders tend to be noisy hell raisers.  Or something like that.  ;D

For those who are interested in giving as much air as possible for their Ultra, the MOCO came with a shortened version of the Heavy Breather that fits with the lowers.

You can now enjoy peace, quiet AND performance!!! :2vrolijk_21:
