First let me begin by saying I am just now beginning my search for answers and knowledge about tuners. I have also searched the site for answers along with talking to a buddy about this. I have an 08 SEUC with Rhinehearts true duals, SE AC and the dealer installed Super Tuner. To date I have just trusted the dealer with tuning the bike, but I want to start getting my hands dirty with this so here I am. What has made me question my decision on going with Super Tuner is talking with my buddy and riding with him. He has an 08 96" Street Glide with an Andrews 54 cam, Rhinehearts and TTS tuner and he walks around me easily. Just doesn't seem right. He claims that the TTS is way more "tunable" than the super tuner is.
I am interested in playing around with the tuning of my bike, but obviously I want way more information. The only thing I have for the Super Tuner is the interface box. I am thinking about buying the software for my laptop, but I don't want to waste my money if the TTS is better and has more tunability than the Super Tuner. I just hate waste the money I already spent on the super tuner, but will I if think its worth it.
So my first question is about the tuners. Is the TTS a better option or can I get the same results by buying the Super Tuner software and going that route? I guess right now I am questioning the tune the dealer put on my bike.
One last question-my same buddy is putting a big bore kit in his bike and will be swaping out his Andrews TW54 cams for something different. He said he thinks the Andrews 54's would be good option for my bike, but he wasn't completely sure because of the 110 and he would need to do more checking. They only have a couple thousand miles on them and he said he would just give them to me if I wanted them. What do you all think about those cams with what I already have on my bike.
Thanks for the help!!!
Find a dyno (dealer?) and put both your bikes up, at least you will get a starting point.
The 54 cams are nice, maybe not for you with a SE bike. (heads are different)
Check with one of the vendors on here, do some homework, decide what's best for you......riding style, weight, etc, etc.
I assume you want to pull his bike, right??
The tts has more options but, not sure if it is "better", but, easier to use for some of us.
