Winter riding
« on: March 02, 2010, 12:08:43 PM »

Over the past weekend we (in Sioux City Iowa) finally had enough days without new snow that most of the streets are free of ice and snow.  I even got my hilly driveway scrapped down to asphalt this past weekend and got my bike out.  Feels good to be riding again after two months of snow packed city streets and parking lots.

I do not mind the cold, but do not like snow and ice on the roads.

CONGRATS...... on your first ride in 2010.

We probably have another 2-4 weeks of no riding, which sucks. My last ride was in November.

My last ride was, , , , yesterday.
Rode back from Daytona.
But it's snowing today.
Strange weather.

Going to be a great weekend with temps in the 50's for Virginia. Time to dust off the bike.

At the rate it's going, we won't see the road surface until May. It's gotta warm up someday---it really does.

Getting the itch, but need a couple good rain storms to wash down the packed accumulation of road salt. I shudder to think what that crap and warm water will do to my babies. We still have a considerable snow pack melting into the road by day and freezing up again at night. There is always some genius that does not take this into consideration early in spring and ends up with a Mercy Flight helicopter ride!

Yeah, I know the feeling... I went for my first ride yesterday since late January and is was exhilarating!

Today the temp should reach into the mid 50's so I might get out again today as well.

Well got out for another ride. Short one 80 miles, only because one of my people broke down, battery died.
But we made the best of it and thanx to Nu Rock HD being open on a Sunday!!! Way to go  :2vrolijk_21:
The only HD in the NY area that I know of that is open on a Sunday. Well we picked up the battery and
went back and installed it in the bike and had a little ride. Thank you LiL John and Keith to out standing
Bro's who stayed behind to help and make a nice ride of it all.
