Value of a 2004 Pumpkin
« on: March 20, 2010, 11:39:58 AM »

I’m looking at two different 2004 SE Pumpkins both real clean with low miles.
One has 14K miles with Rhineharts, race tuner etc. for $16800
The other has 18K miles also with Rhineharts and race tuner plus color matched king tour pak for $17500.

Do those sound like really good deals or just your average price.
Both bikes I would have to fly to see and pay to ship so that’s another $1000 out of my pocket.

In my opinion, both are good prices...better than average if the condition of the bikes are good.  Depending on their location, you may be able to get a site member to take a first look at them for you before your spend money traveling yourself...

I would not hesitate paying the prices listed. Especially for the one with the King Tour Pak. I paid $19750.00 2 year ago for a Pumpkin with a King Tour pak and it had 32k miles. So your deals seem great. Just make sure the wheels are are in great shape. Ask up front if any peeling on the wheels, rider and passenger foot boards.

Most bikes depreciate a lot in 2 years but I would say that may be in line with these prices.
Two years equaling $2000 less in value.

I think both prices sound good if you're looking for one, but bad if you own one. :'( ;) ::)  Sounds like you gotta decide how important the king tour-pak is.  Rineharts aren't really a differentiating factor as you can always add them to the other bike if that's what you really want.  The factory-matched tour-pak, on the other hand, is probably going to be a lot tougher to find.  4,000 miles difference between the two, isn't really material, either.

I agree with Scott (sadunbar) ... see if you can get someone here to take a look for ya and save you some $$$ (to be spent on other things, of course!).

Good luck.

I decided to get a Road Glide instead. Found a 2007 with king tour pak, VH pipes etc with 2900 miles in Orange for $14000.
I wanted a CVO but I would have been getting an older bike with more miles for more money.
Money is tight so I think this RG will do the trick.

I think I have to agree that both bike seem very reasonable. But I will say, that finding a King TP is going to nearly impossible to find if you should want one.  I don't thing the Rineharts should make or break the deal,  They are so over-rated anyway and you can always add them. The wheels should be factor, we all know how badly those wheels peeled anyway. Good luck. I am in Florida, and have an O/B perhaps i wouldnt mind selling.  Let me know if you are interested.
