Passenger Floorboard Question
« on: March 02, 2010, 08:57:17 PM »

I'm going to want passenger floorboards when I pick up my 09 SERG- just trying to figure out the parts I need, since Harley can't seem to sell anything as a package.

- chrome passenger floorboard bracket

- swept wing footboard

- swept wing footboard insert

I guess that's my main question- which "collection" is the insert that I want- is it the Stealth that will match the stock CVO rider footboard insert?

If you go to my signature and look at the album marked '08 SERK Annie, you'll see that I did the same thing on my SERK and I bought the adjustable chrome mounting kit.  This gives you the option to tilt the boards as well as move them forward or rearward with several more vertical inches of adjustments.

The total will set you back over $600 without any discount.

I took the kit from the SERK and put it on the new '09 SERG and bought the Rumble inserts.  My wife really likes the way they can be adjusted to her needs.

Good luck.

Can't seem to find the Rumble inserts on the HD site, but similar ones are $199, and you say that is apiece, so $400 for just the inserts?

If that's the case, I'll probably get different swept wing inserts (like $85 each, I believe), that won't clash with the rider Rumble inserts.

Wow Dan, Annie sure is pretty!

I just looked at the HD site- the Ironside inserts (looks like the ones you have Dan) are $230 for BOTH, while the Stealth ones (look like the Rumble, probably priced the same?) are $220 EACH!!!

Hi North Star,

If you search Rumble Collection on our site.  You'll find what you need.  I think this has all you need:

My wife agrees with you.  She's VERY upset that I traded it in on the new '09 SERG O/B.  She said that the only colors she doesn't like in the SERG is the O/B combo.  Oh well, life's tough, she'll get over it.  Just like when I sold my blown 392 hemi '40 Willys coupe back in '01.  The bike trade in is nothing compared to me selling the Willys.  Although if I had known I was going to move from Michigan to St. Louis, I would have kept the Willys.  But I now have all you great guys to read about and a great bike to ride so I'm good with that.

My wife is getting more used to the SERG and says in a very weak voice she does like the tunes and the ride a bit more than when we had the SERK.  She'll come around eventually.

Thanks for the comments on the Annie.  Personally I love the SERG and it handles SO much better, that's why I traded so I could get the new looks AND the new '09 frame etc.

Do you have a set of "Rumble" pegs to sell?  (09 SERG).  Looking for a pair to move to the engine guards as highway pegs.  Thanks, John (john.sabatka@basf.com).

Unlike what I did for my '08 SERK, NO, no extra parts this time.

When I bought my '08 SERK I asked my wife if she wanted the running boards and she said no.  So I bought a set of Ironside pegs and mounted them as highway pegs.  A couple weeks later after a long ride, she said that she had reconsidered and would like me to get the adjustable running boards.  So at that time I had over $150 in the highway pegs and then upwards of $600 in the adjustable running boards and ended up with an extra pair of matching pegs.

On the '09 SERG, I transferred the adjustable running board upgrade from my traded in '08 SERK and just ordered the Rumble collection winged inserts.  I actually think I paid about $210 for the pair of inserts.  Anyway, that let me use the rear pegs up front and I have nothing just sitting in my parts drawer.

There is a link above for the Rumble Collection, but I'm sure the '09 / '10 SEUC came with the winged Rumble inserts and Rumble highway pegs.  So if nothing else, just look in that part of the parts book for the part numbers.

I do like having the adjustable rear setup rather than the fixed setup.  Both allow height adjustments per the frame three holes, but the adjustable allow you to swing forward, rearward or angle the passenger's running boards for added comfort and if nothing else, sometimes just a change of pace for your BSR riding position.
