6.5" Clearview now with Pics
« on: March 13, 2010, 06:17:52 PM »

Just got back from my first ride with a new 6.5" Clearview with recurve. 100 miles at speeds from 30-90 mph. I'm 5'9" and this is about perfect for me. Tried a 4" w/recurve first and this is MUCH better. An 8.5" would be too tall. Went with light grey tint. Not as groovy as a dark tint, but better at night for sure. 6.5" still looks "right" on a SESG.

The question is do you look through it or over it?  Body height varies greatly as far as proportion.  If looking through it, is it distorted?

I look over it. But, if you duck down and look through it, absolutely no distortion. This should be true of all Clearview shields regardless of height.

Looks good, I have an 10.5 Clearview dark smoke, love it, I am 6 feet tall and can see over it.

I have a 9-1/2" dark tint and it works great!  I'm protected from the wind and have a clear view (no pun intended) right over the top of the shield.

Just so you know, I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam.

I too have the same one and use it when I have my RG seat on and no tour pak. I am 6'5" and 34" inseam and it is perfect. I did buy a taller one for touring with the touring seat ( I will sit higher up). I have not tried it out yet but will in a month or so.
