2009 CVO Softail Springer Air filter query
« on: April 08, 2010, 03:40:13 PM »

The 29509-06 filter element is standard in my FXSTSSE3

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320475235802&viewitem=

The European bike does not come with a heavy breather kit unfortunately although I was promised one when I purchased the bike a year ago I have yet to collect it as well as a power commander,  I have a V&H large radius exhaust and paid 1000€ extra for these three items

A local who is very technical told me my bike sounds very restricted due to lack of air probably due to the present setup with the standard filter & the V&H exhaust

The question I would like to ask is are there issues putting on these parts, have any of you added some or all of these parts, have other changes to be made like mapping or can anyone here advise me on what I should do before I take the bike to my dealer tomorrow,
Thanks people, id appreciate any help ye can give me

Hi, to answer your question, the european bikes as given to you are running very lean and the ignition will be retarded, check your spark plugs!
the electrodes will have a white deposit on them, as compared to a nicotine brown colour of a bike running richer.
when you make any changes to air filter exhaust you should also remap the injection/fuel/air settings with some sort of device, be it power commander or other
