Jerry,

I here you and am listening, what a shame mother HD has gone back to building crap like when they were owned by AMC.  I had a few of the AMC bikes and man did I have issues.  Well for now I guess I will stick with the 06 103 and if the motor goes get a Jim's or a Patrick.  Sure would like to buy a new one again someday.  Perhaps they will get it right some day.

Thanks,

Jim

Wouldn't that be AMF?

If Harley ever builds a Gremlin (rather than just incorporating them) would it be an FXDGRMLNI ?

This is an 07 that had the program update on the heads, mileage unknown

Don,
I believe that picture is of a valve that came from one of the heads I just sent you for work (Charles, in Korea).  If it isn't, it's very similar.  It's out of an '07 FLHTCUSE2 with about 11,000 miles.  As you said, the bike had been to both a Japanese HD dealer and a Korean HD dealer for the new gaskets...

I was about 150 miles south of home when this broke.  I fired the bike up in the morning to get back home and right away it sounded gawd-awful.  Nothing else to do at that point except try starting a few more times and it puffed and just started running about normal, with a new clinking noise in the top end.  Drove it back home, and further, with no new noises or indications of problems, until I started burning lots of oil.  Kopreans didn't like the associated smoke.  Anyway, I now know what all those terrible noises and top-end clicking were.

My bike's still at the Korean shop, getting Dewey's-modified heads and new cams installed.  Can't wait to finally have a cooler running bike this year...
