Need help with Zumo 550 & Nolan with N-com
« on: April 07, 2010, 12:11:46 AM »

We need assistance,  I FINALLY got my garmin 550 connected to my helmet, then my cell to my helmet and all worked then when Jon turned on his we lost the intercom between each other?  So is there a way, I can use the intercom, and still receive phone calls, I don't care about hearing the garmin telling me where to turn?  UGH!

Not sure if this is your problem or not as I am not familiar with your setup but the Zumo needs to be the router and it sounds like you made the helmet the router. You need to pair the Zumo to the helmet and then pair the phone to the Zumo so that the Zumo can be the boss. This might help you and it might not, just a thought.

ok, I knew this would be confusing, but that is what I did, the zumo to the helmet and the cell to the zumo  and after I did that I (all by myself) work just great, everything works just fine, until Jon turns on his helmet and then we can not talk over the intercom, so I have to turn off my blue tooth and then the intercom comes back on.......and the two of us can talk but I can't get or make phone calls......

Did you let Jon read the owner's manual? :huepfenlol2:

I did not catch the fact that you have 2 Bluetooth helmets, sorry about that. The Nolan is not capable of being the router and it sounds like the Nolan wants to connect to another Nolan over connecting to the Zumo. In other words the helmets want to give priority to each other. Not 100% sure about this but I don't think the Nolan has the ability to split Bluetooth connections and that is what you are trying to do.

Have you called Nolan tech support?

If all else fails go back to wired headsets and all your problems go away.

Jim

Except the bigger problem of being attached to a wire. :nixweiss:

On mine and Terrie's (we have the Garmen 2730 GPS w/XM radio), the XM plays through the bike speakers, we have wireless intercom and are also able to switch over to make/receive a call.  That's what they're wanting to do.

Susan, did you read the manual about how you switch from intercom to make/receive a call?  It may be done a different way or one of the other buttons that you push to switch over.

I'm surprised that somebody with the Garmin 550 zumo isn't able to help you with this.  :nixweiss:
