Recent Dyno
« on: May 28, 2010, 01:23:56 PM »

I have been working on my 07 Se Ultra I have put TW7 woods cams,Dewey's pro heads, had the heads machined down and cylinder tops shaved so I have 0 piston drop that makes my compression 9.9/1 had true duals on it and was told that if I put a good 2 into one my low end torque would be better so i put D&D on it and my low end torque dropped any suggestions or comments.
Thanks Chuck

Which baffle?  Performance baffle will do that.  Also it looks like your clutch is slipping.

What software did they use to tune it with? If you're using SEST or TTS, try use the auto tune capability. Do some riding and collect data from the rides and then upgrade the maps with the tuning updates and I think that'll cleanup the bottom end.

Chuck
I will let you use a FC quiet baffle (not quiet) and it will bring that right back but the bagger FC does sometimes have a SLIGHT not LARGE TQ dip in the 2500 range. Ask Jarz if they worked the timing at all. If not I can help with that too. Pipe and timing are critical to good performance. Looks good and picking up 10hp gotta love that, proof positive the pipe on these motors really matters.

Had a guy call today with same heads motor and FBW 09 stock TB FC that got 113/121 with the cam everyone says shouldn't work TW5-6. He reports "more quiet than stock" and torque on right off idle.  He is a sharp dude and has a deal to use a dyno and it was tuned with TTS.

Not suggesting you change yours is close right now, just a baffle change away from being done.
Keep in mind the dyno is a test of WOT performance. We use that to gauge success but in reality it isn't the way we ride on the street most of the time. So more important is how does the bike feel and pull on trips which is the typical bagger use.

FWIW, here's my dyno with a similar engine build on a 2010 SE Ultra. Heads by Hillside, roller rockers, larger injectors, 58MM TB, Woods 408-6 cams, FatCat with Quiet Performance Baffle, Ventilator A/C, SEST. The bike has had much tuning since this dyno although I don't have a current graph, but I believe it is now much closer to 120/120 as the bike is far more explosive and much smoother running since this earlier map.

Anyways, I thought this older map would be helpful since it shows no Tq dip with the FatCat and that's with a less than optimum tune.

I would not call that too similar but looks good
Lot bigger cam, probably higher compression and larger TB.
