Fitment ? - 2005 Fatboy and a softail
« on: May 10, 2010, 10:47:21 AM »

 :help Have a ?

I am in the middle of a build, I have a softail frame with a 200 tire. Will a 2005 fatboy seat work on a softail frame. Is the fender the same profile. I do know that the seat profile will be differant from side to side but my big concern is front to back.

The fatboy is a softail. Depends on the frame dimentions as to whether or not the seat will fit. I would think it would but might have to be slightly modified. I would doubt if it would be really hard to make work.

Forgot to mention alot of the custom bike seats are attached with Velcro
If you mount the fender to the frame it will be easier to make work.
If the fender is floating with the swingarm you will have to fab up
some kind of steal support for the back of the seat. Still not that hard
just takes time. Post some pics of your progress would lobe to see
how it's coming together.  Good luck with the project it will be fun.
