Flush Mount Gas Cap LEDs Not Burning
« on: July 06, 2010, 07:06:16 PM »

Several weeks ago I looked down and 2 of the LEDs on my flush mount gas cap gauge weren't burning.  They magically started working again shortly afterwards  :confused5: but they are now disfunctional again.  I wouldn't care so much if it was the last 2 indicating a full tank but it's the 2nd and 3rd ones from the left (as the fuel runs low) so it gets hard to figure out when I need to refill.  Well, not really, as I can use the remaining mileage gauge, but it's aggravating as hell to look down and see those not burning... >:(

Anybody seen this, have a possible resolution, etc?  Anything I can check to maybe get them working again without replacing the whole thing?

I'm afraid no. Had the same experience with my last FLHRCI. There is no known way to repair those LEDs.

I decided to live with it as the readings were not really trustworthy anyway  ;)

I think there is an "improved" design out. I had mine replaced under warranty and they work fine (for) now.

Dealer replaced 3 times, finally got a working one, then sold the Road King.
