Shaft Lube

Anyone lube the shifter shaft? And, if so with what?

I was serious. Just wondered white grease or dry lube. Sorry to bother you two. Now that you've had your fun, I'e got two words for you and they're not Merry Christmas.

No bother at all thank you very much.

I use your basic bearing grease. And if I get motivated I'm going to put a grease zerk in it.

I drilled and tapped mine for a grease fitting, use green grease in the fitting every service.  Doc

I keep thinking about drilling and tapping it, but now that it is a chrome inner I would worry about the chrome peeling  :nixweiss:

I would not drill the chrome inner primary.
