I am sorry for your loss and my condolences to you and his family.  I do not know what it takes to get people to see a motorcycle, we all run with our light on fog light too.  Some people are just impatient and always in a rush.  In Alabama I think 4 whel vehicles think it is a game to see how close you can get before they pull out or cross in front of you.

my most heartfelt condolences to you and his family.  The left hand turn really scares me.  i also dont know what to do.  airhorn, motolights and even a headlight modulator doesnt seem to make a difference.
