SESG - power duals or other?
« on: July 05, 2010, 05:36:42 PM »

I'm 1000 miles into the new bike with SERT and hi output V&H.

Is it worth buying the power duals or should I decline or should I buy something else?

Any insight most appreciated.

Cheers,

Looks, power and sound - yes all three ticked.  I'm not necessarily after a drag bike.

I pulled the trigger on some power's based on the above.

Cheers

The power duals and hi-outputs have really changed the bike's seat of the pant's riding feel and there's a significant reduction in heat from the RHS or either side for that matter.  Most impressed and they sound great too.  Recommended :2vrolijk_21:

I just got this same setup put on and it sounds real good.  Its very deep sounding without a lot of crack, but it growls when you jump on it.  VH states that the hi outputs put out 104 db, compared to the basics at 101 the monster rounds and ovals at 94.  Stock is 80 db.  So even though it is rated loud, it seems to me the volume is in the low frequency range so is not as likely to draw negative attention

Thanks Dennis, that's just what I wanted to hear.
I have 3400 miles on my bike in just over 4 weeks and am ready to get rid of the "too quiet" stock sound!  ;D

I like the sound of the basic slip ons that came with my bike as well.  I had the hi outputs put on with the power duals.  The were not as deep sounding  but had a bit more crack.  The say the potenial HP increase with basics is 3 and the high output 5 or 6 so I went with those. They look nice too, they are big, like 4.5 inches.
