Fire Marshall and his group showed up three days ago, official ruling, the fire was so intense that they are only 50% on the charger and 50% on the outlet it was plugged into.

Also had a fried breaker in the electrical panel.  So for now it is not confirmed it was the battery tender so I am back to using mine, to many others things could have been the cause.

JMHO

it was a cheap 15 amp receptacle installed on 12ga wire in a 20amp circuit. Wire pushed into back of receptacle instead of using the screws to clamp it down. The springs in those receptacles loose tension after being heated and cooled many times and with a loose contact heat builds up quickly.

The tenders I use have a built in fuse that should blow before allowing a fire to begin......but chit does happen and all this goes out the window

That much damage indicates a very powerful explosion. I hardly believe a battery or charger could have done that. more likely an oxygen tank leak or a meth lab?

I wonder if the guy had some racing fuel or nitrous and improperly stored... :nixweiss:

Actually, he had tons of stuff in there, SEA Doo with full tank, gallon of carb cleaner, golf cart, spray cans of paint and electrical cleaner.  Went it went up there was a hell of an explosion followed by 20 mini explosions and one hell of a fire.  They were not home when it happened, he lost a lot of race motors and turbos not covered by insurance as well as a ton of electronics, radios, CD players gps's etc.  Definitely gone to take it in the shorts fro being under insured.
