Just Changed Bars on '08
« on: March 17, 2010, 01:14:43 PM »

O.K. guys,
After many false stats we finally got it done. The result for me is awesome. It rides like a totally different motorcycle. Rider position is radically improved for me since I prefer to sit back and not lean over the bars like sport biker.
Here are the part numbers from Drag Specialties:
Bars (10" mini-ape Flanders) 0601-0631
Brake line 27" 10 mm 90 degree Chromite ll 1204-3742
Brake line SC2 ft 00-09 FLST 1741-1615
Clutch line Hyd. SCll 70" Chromite ll 1741-0308
Banjo gasket 41733-88
Throttle cable 96-02 FLHR Chromite ll DS-3321
Idle cable 96-02 FLHR Chromite ll DS 3421
Terminal pins #16-20 AWG 72169-07 (14)
Receptacles contact 20-1 73191-96 (6)
Various wires and shrink wrap for electrical
LABOR -Very high dollar due to internal wiring

Hope this helps. To me these bars should have been on from the factory, of course that's just my opinion.

That looks great!  I agree, that's how the bike should have come from the factory.  Thanks for all the pics and part numbers...looks like that's the next move for me!

Thanks, Shortdog, for all the info on this mod!  I am in dire need of a change in the handlebar position on my '08 CVO Springer.  I love the way this bike looks an handles, but I hate the forward leaning position that the handlebars put me in.
