I've been tossing around the idea of switching the leather tour pack on my 2007 Ultra for a stock one. Just wondering if anybody has done any work which required paint and had luck with paint codes to match the 2007 Red Ultra colors (Red, Gold, Blacl)?

I have not done so on my 07 but I did finally get the touch-up paint.  I am not sure if there are any paint codes on the bottles but the paint appears to be a three-step or four- step process.  There is a light purplish base coat then the cherry red goes over that and possibly the black over the cherry.  The clear topcoat over the color coats.  Of course, the touch-up doesn't consider the golden fade along the black edges.  This appears to be hand done (before the clearcoat and likely before the black is applied over the cherry) as another cherry 07 parked next to me at the Hot Springs Rally last year and his gold fade was a LOT wider and more prominent than mine.  (Since the gold fade width is the same all over the bikes, I am guessing two different painters at the factory.) I think this would be a very tough paint job to replicate outisde the factory but if you find someone who can do it and it looks good, I'd like to know.

I'm thinking of just doing the tour pack in the red with the recessed panel area on the lid in black & some gold pinstripping to make the job easier. I found a couple of links doing a search for a red that is a match. I just might have a friend to a sample shot to hold up next to the bike to see how it looks. If it's off a small bit it may be ok since the tour pack is not right next to another stock painted part and the separation may make it unnoticeable. If I do it, it will certainly be a winter project.

I was wondering if the 97-05 Light Candy Cherry color listed for H-D parts is the same as the 07 SECU2 Light Candy Cherry. If it a stock H-D color, it would be easier to get the paint codes. Possibly even order a tour pack and have it painted that color from H-D - would be expensive without a doubt.

PPG VIBRANCE PAINTS has a red paint that matches if you go to a paint store and use thier  paint cards it's the one with firemist gold base and the base is over spay paint.we used vivid black for the black.our  painter had to do something for the flop.  goos luck jdo
