Found lots of intersting responses on another thread but it was originally started for "Pics of my new bike".

There are some interesting facts and instructions about adjusting your CB antenna.

Before I changed out my antennas, I checked my stock one and found it was way in the "red".. So I for one am assured that the dealership where I got my bike did NOT setup or check the SWR's at all!I know this mainly because when I picked the bike up, the had the AM/FM swapped with the CB antenna.. :o

According to the Pre-Delivery Inspection instructions and checklist, the dealer only installs the antenna mast(s).  Nothing in the instructions about checking the CB antenna for SWR.  ?????

What about putting the correct antenna on the correct post? If you transmitt with a bad SWR setup, I'm told you blow out the CB's final outputs. Wouldn't this bring up a warrenty issue?

I'm lucky since I picked mine up in MN and rode it home to Dallas last Nov and didn't hurt the radio.. I tried the CB and found I couldn't hear anyone so I turned it off and just listened to the XM all the way home. I found the swaped antennas after I got home and changed them around and presto.. the CB worked. I just finally checked the SWR's last week when I changed out the stockers and found that the SWR's on the stockers were WAY in the "red".. I'm real glad I finally got it dialed in..

When I got my first Ultra I just figured the CB was crap and never looked into it that much.

Thanks guys for the great info and for a CB that will work.

Not that I want to put the stock antenna back on but how do you adjust it?

I parked the bike out on the driveway pad about 10-15 feet away from the metal garage door.
