I think it's more likely that for some reason or another, HD is just pushing the CVO brand with marketing these bikes, and perhaps their putting more emphasis on the SE brand in their parts and accessories line. Major corporations do this often, by shifting the direction they want the specific brands to be recognized. In an office or conference room somewhere, someone with a degree of importance has decided this, thinking it will have an effect on what or why we buy.

And that's probably fueled by another person of importance who's slamming his fist on the table, wanting to know why we're(collectively) not spending as much money, as they think we should.

Anyone on here, who's ever sat in a similar meeting will know exactly what I'm referring to. :nixweiss:

I think the name was changed to Squawking Chicken, to more closely reflect the actual product over the past few years.  The codes haven't caught up yet, so yes the model designation still says SE.  Look for it to be updated to SC in the near future.

And I thought I was the only person calling my 110 a Squawking Chicken!  lol

I was wondering why the new bikes ( last couple of years) seem to be marketed as"CVOs" not "Screamin Eagles" I know HD was using the screamin eagle name, starting in 2000,( FLTRSEI ) but they seem to be pushing the CVO name more these days. Fear not, I have NOT been losing any sleep over this, but I was curious.

WannaRide -- I agree, HOWEVER they could probably sell more CVO "Scramn' Eagle" bikes if they were truly exclusive.  Yes, if someone were to purchase all the parts of a CVO he would pay more than the CVO bike, but the fact he can buy all the parts makes the CVO brand less exclusive.  For me, to spend this much money, I want some exclusivity

There are some parts on CVO bikes that are exclusive to CVO's. Mostly the painted parts and the CVO logo'd stuff. They are VIN restricted.

I've been trying to get the ignition switch cover with the CVO logo (see photo) on it that I have seen on the '08 SE Dyna and can't find a dealer to sell me one even tho I have a CVO. They say it is restricted to the model/year of the bike it was on. I'll figure it out eventually, but the MoCo does try to keep some stuff unique to the CVO line.

Having been an owner of the Original O/B/W/ 00' Screamin Eagle, Im just happy to see them puting the bird back on some of the bikes. When the 02' Screamin Eagle Roadking came out I remember thinking "Wheres the Eagle?"
