« on: January 14, 2012, 11:42:27 AM »

Are the vin numbers on the frame and the number on the side of the engine supposed to be the same ?  On another Harley I had, they we not the same number. But on my CVO bike; they are the same.

As far as I know they should be... sounds like your previous bike had the motor replaced (and not by the MoCo as they will take your old stamped cases back to ensure there aren't two motors out there w/same VIN).

Thes #'s on the case, stamped in the frame, and sticker on the frame should all be the same. I have seen a new bike bought from moco that did not match. They took the bike back and had it fix.

Is the tranny also stamped with the sequence part of the VIN stamped?
