TTS Tune runs great except when really hot
« on: July 26, 2010, 06:06:06 PM »

2010 SESG installed Reaper 574 cams Fullsac 2in baffles cat removed TTS tuner. I took a map that was close and after several runs now have my own map. The bike runs really great except when I get into town and stop and go traffic. After the motor gets hot in traffic it will idle good at a stop but when you try to give it throttle it blubbers and coughs. If you baby it you can get it rolling and then it is OK. Any ideas what I need to do to my map as I said it only acts that way after some stop and go traffic. Thanks DelNel :nixweiss:

Sounds like it is overheating and the EITMS is kicking in. Before you go to take off next time it is hot give the motor a rev to about 1200 RPM then take off. If that solves it then you are overheating. You can try then to richen your idle fuel mixture to slow the heating some but they will still overheat in enough traffic. If you do not have an oil cooler install I would add one as that will help keep it cooler.

2010 SESG has a oil cooler but thanks for the input may try the enrichment but it sure runs good when cooler.

You could also switch OFF the EITMS and see if it still happens. This would confirm for sure whats happening.

I did not even think about the EITMS I came off of a 2004 and don't think that had that system so this is my first experiance with it. So maybe there is not a problem with my map. Is this common when these bikes get to running hot? Thanks Steve for the thoughts. DelNel :)
