I am fairly happy with my Clearview shield(s). But, on a recent 3,000 mile tour on FLHXSE I used the 8" and found the smaller the road, them more I missed my 6.5".

I am interested in hearing from anyone who has tried both the 6.5" Clearview and the LRS 6" in either "Classic" or "Ultra" flip up versions. Any insight into the differences is appreciated.

No responses to my original post prompted me to do more research (the JCZ way, spend money)...
According the very nice and helpful folks a Long Ride Shields, their "classic" and Clearview shields have very similar recurves and are quite comparable. The LRS "Ultra" shields give about 1-1/2" more upward air deflection size for size.

At the suggestion of the LRS folks, I've ordered a 7" "Ultra" which should provide a bit more air deflection than my 8" Clearview while not intruding on my line of sight.

I will report on the results when I get the shield. Anyone else assembling a "wardrobe" of windshields?

...Just back from a 75 mile test ride of the LRS. Works as advertised. As much or a bit more deflection than the 8" Clearview. Much better for me. It's amazing how much difference a 1" lower windscreen makes to vision on a twisty road. This one's the keeper for me. Anyone want a 6.5" or 8" Clearview in excellent condition?

All I can tell you is that I purchased a Long Ride Shields 8" model for my '05 and I can't tell any difference or benefit from this shield over the stock...except for the extra cost.  I wrote the company a couple of emails telling them this and got no response.  I know I won't buy from them again...

You didn't ask about them, but I recently got bought a new shield from Freedom Shields and I'm very happy with it.  They offer top notch customer service and extremely quick shipment.  Even a follow-up email to make sure the shield arrived in good shape and that I was satisfied with my purchase.  What more could you ask?

I haven't tried the clearview shield but I have a A 6" H-D,a 6.5 klockwerks and a 8.5 longride and a 10.5" Klockwerks. I'm 5'9" and the longride is the best I have tried yet. Oh ya. how can I forget the 9" standard and the 4" H-D. I've had no problems with customer service with them, but have heard a few stories. I am gonna get the 10.5 or 11longride for next winter and that should complete my collection. ;D
