DERBY COVER SCREW SIZE? HELP **GOT THEM THANKS*****

 I need to know the screw size,thread,length,etc. for the Derby Cover on a 03 Road King Classic. Don't want to pay the $ for the HD ones. Long story... Thanks

**** UPDATE **** Picked up some 1/4 by 20 Chrome button head Hex screws today at Ace. Installed this afternoon  they worked great. Thanks All!

I belive that it is a 1/4" 20thread, 5/8' long. I purchased mine at an Ace hardware for about 70 cents ea. They had them in chrome also.

I belive that it is a 1/4" 20thread, 5/8' long. I purchased mine at an Ace hardware for about 70 cents ea. They had them in chrome also.

Thread and length stated are correct.  I also replaced mine with those purchased at the local hardware store - also in chrome.  My suggestion is to replace the torx head screws with allen button head screws.  Torx screws are intended for speed and productivity during the factory assembly process.  However allen head screws are more reliable and less likely to strip during maintenance.

Thanks LarryBB I think you are correct, I was unsure of there length. Our Ace has chrome also.

Yeah Sadunbar I hate the Torx screws, I think I will get the allen button head screws. Thanks
