Travel Cover suggestions..
« on: August 03, 2010, 10:31:52 AM »

What do you guys use for a travel cover?

Obviously the CVO cover is too bulky... I looked at the Oasis Day Cover... none of the dealers around here have it in stock.

I know if I buy one... It won't rain the whole trip, If I blow it off... it'll rain every night. (but be nice during the day as I bought TourMaster Rain Gear!!)

Thanks for suggestions,
Mal

Hard to beat the price, quality and size of the motorcycle covers at Walmart. The come in various sizes, fold up small and provide excellent rain/wind protection. They include plastic hooks which connect around the pass foot pegs to ensure the cover doesn't blow off. For $30 you're not going to find a better cover.

Check out the covers from Exigent ( http://www.exigentbikecovers.com ).

Inexpensive.  Fold very small.  Work well.  And very nice people to do business with.

Mal, you can't beat the Tour Master rain gear.  The Tour Master Elite II two piece rain suit is rated the number one suit by Motorcycle Consumer News (the Consumer Reports of the motorcycle industry) and both jacket and pants for less than $100! :2vrolijk_21:

Back to your question........I've never used a cover on the road before.  However, I just bought the HD touring rain covers for both mine and Terrie's bike.  They cover the seats and have a pocket for the rider's backrest.  They have a back seat section but we just tuck that in when riding solo (most of the time).

X2..... Great cover, folds up really small, no "HD" or other MoCo brand that may attract those w/criminal intent... not only is the bike covered it's undercover. ;D

Exigent offers both bike covers and saddle covers.  I keep both in each bike.  The saddle cover would fold up in your back pocket.

Use this on all trips at night. Put it in a compression sack and it packs pretty small.

We use the half bike dust cover types on ours.  They've never blown off and pack quite small.  I'd buy them again.

I've used Exigent covers for years also.  you can't go wrong there and they are priced right.  :2vrolijk_21:

This....   very high quality cover all my buddies bought them after they saw mine.  I also prefer not to have a HD cover, not sure it really makes a difference but I prefer not to advertise.  This one also comes with a travel bag to store it in.

Mine is from Walmart too. Inexpensive and rolls up nicely for storage in my saddlebag.

Another vote for the Exigent cover.  The true test was when I tried to fold it back up and got it back in it's storage bag first try.  I was a little concerned when I ordered mine, since I have my tourpak moved back a few inches, but it's a great fit.
