2009 SERG Brake Issues
« on: August 13, 2010, 03:47:55 PM »

Has anyone had "pulsating" issues with their ABS brakes? As I approach 15K miles, when I grab a handful of the front brake, the front end pulses hard.  It will still stop you, but this is not right, and not the normal ABS function.  I have also recently noticed that I can feel a pulsating coming through the rear break pedal now as well.  Not nearly as strong as what is going on with the front, but unsettling none the less.

I have had the ABS recalibrated once, and do not abuse the brakes while riding or stopped. The bike is under an extended warranty, and I am sure my dealer will stand up to the fix, just concerned that the issue is recurring.  Anyone else had these problem with their brakes?

Possible warped Rotors? The MOCO spec is 0.008".

25,000 and none of the pulsing you describe. I'd bet on the rotors as well.

mines got 30k, replaced all pads to Lyndalls about 10k ago.
I concur with the others, rotors.
put a straight edge up against them and see if there's any deflection

25000 KM on my third set just not heavy enough rotors, warranty should cover it though

Thanks for the insights gents....Larry, which Lyndal pad did you replace the stockers with?  Gold Plus, Z-Pad Plus, or the
Red?  I'll let you know how it goes with the dealer.
