harley premium air horn wiring : ???
« on: August 14, 2010, 07:21:22 PM »

HI ,

i bought he Harley premium air horn . It comes with a relay  triggered by the existing black/yellow wire. What is the interest to have a relay since the black ( elbow) wire is the same , thus supporting the peak current intensity called by the compressor since it is the thinest wire....
 any idea? seems stupid

The black wire is not the hot wire, the yellow wire is. The black wire is ground.

Also - although the instructions do not say it, the positions of the yellow and black terminals on the horn are specific. The yellow wire must be connected to the terminal to the most outside and rear of the horn (when mounted). Black wire connects to the m ost inner and forward terminal.
