Cruise Control Switch 2009 SERG3
« on: August 21, 2010, 01:11:38 AM »

Has anyone replaced the cruise control set/coast switch that is in the right handle bar pod.  SERG3.  I have power at the on/off switch on  the dash (at least the light is on) but I can't get the cruise con trol to work.  How hard is it to replace?  Thanks

Curious why this would not be a  warranty item... ? ?  Replaced one on my 04 RG.  Not difficult if you have the service manual.  I can probably fax you the pages but not until Tuesday.   Out of town for a funeral.

I imagine it should be a warrenty item.  It's just that I'm on the road for a trip to California with some bodies and it seems to be hard to find a dealer at the right spot at the right time.  Anyway, replaced it today and it still doesn't work.

The electronic throttle bikes of course won't have the switch in the throttle cable nor the separate cruise module.  So aside from some unlikely wiring issue the only separate parts that could keep it from engaging are the cruise switch, the clutch switch or either of the brake light switches.  You'd know if your brake light was on all the time though.  Aside from those parts it's all rolled up in the ECM.

Just came back from So Dakota. Had the same problem. I read somewhere in the manual to cycle the ignition a couple times and it would reset certain functions.Tried it and it has been fine ever since. Cycle ignition lock, off,on. Twice. Also are you having heat issues because the heat might have something to do with it. That is when I had my problem.95 + degrees slow traffic.
