Progressive Monotube Installation Question
« on: September 02, 2010, 12:22:34 PM »

Was just asked a question that I didn't know the answer too.  Have the Progressive kit at the shop but I'm not there so can't see it to look right now.  Needing to know what of the OE parts are used over again?  I was under the assumption it was just bottoming cups and seals.  But once asked realized I didn't know if the upper sliders/spacers were used again or not.

If someone who has done this would inform it'd be appreciated.

Everything is reused but the damper rods, springs, and caps.  If you are doing the install, go ahead and replace the bushings and fork seals.

Thanks Matt.  The member originally asking had seen your response before I did.  I think you decided what someone's evening chore is going to be now :2vrolijk_21: .

Just had a "d'uh" moment.  For reasons based on nothing but my own misunderstanding I'd always assumed these kits replaced the slider tubes (outer tubes) too.  So the question nor the answer were ringing clearly.  Then, voila, a flash of beer clarity.  Now I get it.  Love it when I learn something after being dumb.
